ROUND & SQUARE DANCE

Superb article on the revival of round, square, flat-footing and all old-time dancing. The folks here in Bradford are trying to do this in Bradford, as well.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! SQUARE & ROUND DANCING IS BACK!

The Dates: (Last Friday of each month)

  • November 30th
  • December (To be announced)

Where: Crook Farm Homestead Bank Building (2nd building from the road), 476 Seaward Avenue Extension, Bradford, PA 16701. (Do not use this as a mailing address.)

The Dance: This region of Western New York & Western Pennsylvania has a rich tradition of Square & Round dances with homegrown music and calling. We'll have a new format that combines Squares & Round dances in just the right combination!

The Music: The Crook Farm All Stars will host the dance and invite other local musicians.

The Caller(s): Keith Blackmon, our favorite local caller, was the centerpiece of this Dance for many years. Keith passed in 2011, but we'll never forget him. We will be honoring Keith by featuring a variety of local callers who learned dances from Keith and have developed their own style of calling the traditional (Eastern) singing and patter calls.

Coffee, tea and snacks will be available. We contribute the income from snacks and coffee to help the Bradford Landmark Society defray expenses. You are encouraged to bring a treat to share, but it is not required.
